Hi iPhotoSync appears to load OK to my iMac but not to my MacBook Pro – nothing appears under “COMPUTERS”. The iMac can only see itself. I’ve tried reinstalling to no effect. Any ideas?

When you launch iPhotoSync, it launches iPhotoSync Agent, which runs in the background and shows up as a little icon in the menu bar. Is iPhotoSync Agent running on both computers?
Could you send me some debug logging? Here’s what to do:
1. Open iPhotoSync preferences, Advanced tab, and set the log level to Debug
2. quit iPhotoSync
3. launch iPhotoSync
4. open Console.app (in Applications/Utilities), and type “iPhotoSync” into the “filter” field (top right)
5. pick File -> Save a Copy As… and send the file to me (support@haystacksoftware.com)
Thanks!

I can not get this to work. Some better instructions would be helpful.
I’ve installed on both computers, (iMac and MacBookPro) – on the macbook, the iMac shows up as a connection, but I can’t figure out how to get the photos off of the iMac. There is no auto importing or ability to select.

Sorry about the lack of documentation — I’m working on it!
On the MacBook, if you click on the iMac on the left, on the right you’ll see all photos from the iMac that aren’t already in your MacBook’s iPhoto library.
If that’s not happening, please take a screen shot of what you see when you click on the iMac (type Command-Shift-4 to take a screen shot) and email the screen shot to me at support@haystacksoftware.com. Thanks!

Hi,
I’ve started a new synch with >9k pictures worth on the ‘master’ computer. The app’s been running for some time now, with absolutely no indication of progress (on the ‘automatically import’ screen). Maybe a new feature for the next version?

Hi Guy,
I guess the UI is a little confusing. If you’re doing “automatic”, it happens in the background.
I’ll find a way to make it more clear.
Thanks for the feedback!

Hi S.,
I found the growl install window hidden behind the main screen. Maybe something to put in the foreground, if possible? – G

Hello
When I first downloaded and tried iphotosync, all worked perfectly. With the latest (b19 I think) it does nothing. Starts but does not show any computers in the window

Hmm. Did you update both computers to b19?
Could you send me debug logging please? Here’s how to do that:
1. open iPhotoSync’s preferences, Advanced tab, and set the log level to “Debug”
2. quit iPhotoSync and iPhotoSync Agent (click on the menubar icon and pick “Quit”)
3. launch iPhotoSync (so that it logs any/all other computers and any errors)
4. open Console.app and type “iPhotoSync” into the “filter” field (top right)
5. pick File -> Save a Copy As… and send the file to support@haystacksoftware.com.
Thanks!
