Excluding Items Within a Folder

Arq can exclude files and folders within a folder it's backing up.

To exclude an item, first click on the folder on the left to see the summary for that folder. The number of excludes is listed at the bottom. Click the "Edit..." button to edit/add excludes.

Note the pop-up button at the top; select "any" or "all" to match any condition or all conditions for exclusion.

To exclude a file or folder by specific name or part of a name, select "name" in the first pop-up button, the match type you want in the second pop-up button, and enter the name or partial name in the text field.

To exclude a file or folder by "relative path", select "relative path", the match type, and enter the relative path. NOTE: the relative path must not start with a "/".

If you want to match multiple items, click the "+" button to add an exclude. Click the "-" button next to any exclude to remove it.

When you're finished, click "OK" to save the exclude list.
